How the RDC filing fee works

  • Rent-related disputes — eviction, rent-increase challenges, deposit recovery, contract breaches — are charged 3.5% of the annual rent, minimum AED 500, capped at AED 20,000.
  • Money-only claims not tied to a rent figure are charged 3.5% of the claim value, capped at AED 15,000.
  • Half is refunded if the case settles at the Conciliation Department before reaching the Judicial Committee — a real incentive to settle early.
  • You will also need a current Ejari certificate, the tenancy contract, your Emirates ID, and an IBAN letter for money claims.
