Its Middle East story began in 1976, when it opened in Dubai — decades before freehold ownership, the DLD's modern systems, or the towers that define the skyline today. Over forty years it built one of the region's most established consultancy and valuation practices, with offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Bahrain and Oman.
That chapter ended in 2018. On 31 May 2018, Savills completed the acquisition of the entire Cluttons Middle East business — the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Egypt and Saudi Arabia operations, together with the regional team of around 190 people. For Savills, the deal delivered its first wholly owned business in the Middle East, having previously worked through local associates. The offices and staff were rebranded as Savills over the course of 2018, and the leadership team — including Cluttons Middle East CEO Steven Morgan — transferred with the business.
Cluttons itself, meanwhile, refocused entirely on the United Kingdom, where it continues to operate today as an independent London-headquartered firm. It retains no entity, office, licence or staff anywhere in the Middle East.

The Cluttons situation is the perfect argument for verifying credentials rather than trusting a brand name from memory. Two checks cover you:
- DLD / RERA Taqyeem accreditation. Valuation in Dubai is regulated by RERA's Taqyeem programme: companies must be certified and their individual valuers registered, applying the Emirates Book and International Valuation Standards (IVS).
